Some very cool stuff. Thanks for posting this Dave.

Area 51 satellite images....very interesting. I'm particularly fascinated by that group of what looks like craters, or perhaps silos, or maybe the result of old underground nuke tests. Whatever it is, it looks quite odd and interesting.

I still want to see a picture of those big black triangular silent crafts that everyone who calls the Art Bell Show has seen

PA,

They have been the topic of much discussion on the "Chat" section of the programmers' newsgroup I frequent.

The most common opinion (though not the most obvious) you hit on right away: cave ins caused by old underground nuclear tests.

And don't forget that you can type in your own address at http://maps.google.com. Once there, you can pan in any direction just by grabbing the screen.

Amazing how difficult it is to navigate from the air, even when you know the streets.

Also, race tracks come up beautifully (once you locate them).

Personally, I find it addictive.

VTOL- vertical takeoff and landing craft, similar to Harrier jump jets. Beale AFB had a few last time I checked.

most of the good stuff out at area 51 is housed underground. It appears at night and returns before dawn............

:D Son of Dracula, the Wolfman (not Jack) and Frank'n'stein are hiding out in one of those nuclear blast sites getting their battaries recharged for their next movie sequel. :D

Good maps here, too. You might actually be able to zoom in a little closer with this service?

Check out this link for Rachel Nevada map -- Area 51. Guess what part of the map is not available. Hmmmm. Something fishy going on in that dry lake bed.

Check out this topographical map of Area 51. Notice the landing strips are labled as such.
