Is this track still operating?

Cant seem to find a page for it, and it is not on the NTRA's list of tracks.

Just wondering if they still race there.

They usually just run for a few days a couple weeks out of the year, all turf racing.

From the NJ Racing Commission site:

From the DRF:

I have the Atlantic City overnight sheet which was available at Philly Park...AyCee is racing Wed., May 4 and Thursday, May 5 - all grass racing and registered NJ-breds preferred.

By the way, the racing secretary at Philly went down to check out the barn area and facilities and found a bunch of bums living in the old tack rooms and in the grandstand.

I find this such a shame...I loved going down to AyCee at night when it was in its heyday. Plenty of good memories there....

I believe they need to run a few days in order to be able to simulcast the rest of the year, if I am remembering correctly.

But this begs the question, why would anyone go to AC Racecourse for simulcasting, when you can go to a nice little AC casino/racebook?

This track should be razed to put it out of it's misery. Once the proud owner of the UN handicap and matchmaker stakes, where the first three finishers also got a season with a stud, it's nothing but a poor remembrance for the old folks down there of better times.

I love betting this place. All turf, all the time. An no one has a clue. It's a shame it only runs a couple of weeks a year.

Yeah, lots of jump races also. I actually hit one last year, talk about luck.

I have no idea, but I can tell you that the ACRC simulcasting is quite popular amongst the locals.

Granted this was 10 years ago, but my experience was that the AC Racebooks were not very nice at all. They are mixed right in with all the casino noise, impossible to get a form, just a couple windows. Have things changed?

CJ,

I have to agree with you. Not very good at all. Tropicana is so-so, right near the Poker Room. Ballys Park Place on the 6th floor is decent. Bally's Wild West is O.K. Claridge & Trump Marina is a joke. Resorts has a little rectangular box room, not good. Showboat is a joke. Borgata is nice but very very small. On the whole , not very good.
