The upcoming 7th race, with 1 mtp, every single horse in the 8 horse field is between 4 and 8 to 1.

Interesting, the fave (3-1) ran dead last and no horse went off higher than 9-1.

I have watched Hawthorne for several years and have seen many strange things happen too.

Once I saw a race where every horse in the field had a running style of [S] or sustained runners. The strange thing was the the horse with the fastest final fraction won the race - I guess nobody was the early speed!

With the track layout being 7/8th's of a mile, I wonder the longer stretch makes it deadlier to predict the 'speed' and thus resulted in your strange odds?

Hawthorne is a mile track. Sportsman's was the 7/8 layout.

Damn, see how doing taxes on the 15th affects your mind?

Some days speed is great there and other days its not good. But it isn't like it was in the mid 80s in December when they had so much sand and chemicals on the track to keep it from freezing. I remember races when 7 or 8 different horses had the lead in the stretch of the same race.
