Just have to be patient I guess, looks like this crop isn't so poor after all. Maybe trainers are learning not to have the horses run too fast in February and March.

I haven't seen the fig for the SA Derby but I'm guessing this 106 was better than anything Buzzards Bay could've run.

Colts running at the smaller venues routinely get MARKED down

You aren't talking about the Illinois Derby as being at a smaller venue, are you?

This colt does not have a good chance of getting in, because he is a supplemental nominee his graded earnings are not in play, he only goes if there are less then 20.

It will be too bad if he doesn't get in, I rated this race almost as high as the Wood, he would be a serious contender!

the PLACE not the RACE, and when using the "standards' of smaller venues to generate those silly numbers (the all inclusive FINAL chapter number) they are not that accurate

I have no idea what you are talking about, but the Illinois Derby, or the Chicago circuit, hardly get "marked down," and surely aren't "smaller venues" either.

well Okay, but what were you trying to say anyways? What do you mean place not the race? what does that mean? Also what is final chapter number?

I'm really hoping this horse gets in somehow. From Bloodhorse:

-- It's not every day you see a horse win a grade II stakes by 9 1/2 lengths, then come back one week later and turn in a bullet :47 3/5 work. But that's what Greeley's Galaxy (Mr. Greeley) did last Saturday following his blowout score in the Illinois Derby.

I'm not sure what Zilzal is talking about but Hawthorne, while a step below AP, is not in the Penn, TuP, EmD or Tampa neighborhood.

And, the Illinois Derby has been a good race. Many people questioned War Emblem's big Ill Dby rating, and he proved it was legit. Same thing with Ten Most Wanted, though he didn't follow it up in the Derby, his Belmont and future races showed it was deserved. If anything, people have been saying this race was overrated, not underrated, but it has proved to be pretty dead on.

If he (Greeley's Galaxy) gets in, I think he's going to be 10-1 at least. I would anticipate Bellamy Road to be under 2-1. Bandini, High Fly and Afleet Alex will all take some money; probably 5-1/6-1ish. I'm trying to figure out the 40-1 that may clunk up for third or possibly 2nd.
