"ROCKPORT HARBOR OUT OF ARKANSAS DERBY
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. -- Moments after the starcrossed Rockport Harbor worked seven-eighths in 1:25 3/5 here Sunday morning over a fast Oaklawn Park track, trainer John Servis went straight to the cell phone and called Rick Porter, Rocky's owner. After a brief discussion, the decision was made...
Rockport Harbor will not make his scheduled start in next Saturday's $1 million Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn.
Instead, Rocky will be loaded on a Tex Sutton aircraft sometime in the next ten days for a flight to Blue Grass Field in Lexington, Ky. and, on April 23, he will start in the $325,000 Lexington Stakes across Versailles Pike at Keeneland Race Track.
In other words...Plan B..................."
Talk about a hard payback for last years beginners luck.
