Ok, so we won't go 19-0 against you guys this year.

The next time I feel the need to bash the Red Sox, I will just have to remember that they might have the biggest inferiority complex of any "winning" sports team in the history of the game.

I mean, you click on any of the links associated with the Red Sox, and you ALWAYS find Yankee-hater stuff involved. You click on Yankee links, and you aren't innundated with Red Sox stuff. Sox fans are obsessed with the New York Yankees. They have their "Choke" t-shirts, and their "Yankee Hater" caps and shirts....it's kind of pathetic really...

And then you had all the A-Rod smack talk by members of the Red Sox themselves in the off season....it's all gonna come back and haunt you big time...just wait.....  :D :D

it still amazes me why that mariano rivera isnt in some retirement home.
yes, he WAS good but every year he loses more talent. Pitching saves
games (and wins them) ... witness the Mets first game -- and first loss -- when
mediocre pitching blew the lead.

OK, over hyped stuff ALWAYS in the news -- or so it looks. #1, Paris Hilton.
Like who cares anyways? She looks in drag & I wouldn't even nod her way. And #2, Sushi!! like bacteria petri dish & in NYC, they're now the #1 Expensive eateries + the ONLY 4 star ones. PER SE, a restaurant: like I'd prefer mom's
meat loaf. Which brings me to Derek Jeter. First, cause he has MY first name,
I hold him to a high standard, and what does HE give us, only Fluff. He's not
a Power Hitter; He NOT a great short stop & to me the ONLY trait he shows is
this veneer of keeping calm/cool. Yeah he's good looking & the girls scream,
but he's got almost average talent, like Galloping Grocer. The Yankees in making
itself WORTH MORE developed DJ's mystique & the press plays lap dog so
willingly. I could go on with those annoying Olsen Twins now attending my
school, but hey I like them, even though they're insane & kinda talentless Big
Bucks. Of course, as a devout Buddhist, I revere all LIFE, but I don't have to enjoy theirs. DJC

Derek, I'm no Yankee fan, but at last check, a .315 career batting average, a World Series MVP, 202 steals, and 1,738 hits at age 30 are all stats that are NOT over-hyped. I hate the Yanks with a burning passion, but I hold no shame in saying Jeter's a very good baseball player.

1944 was the St Louis Brown's lone WS appearance. I believe they played the Cardinals. I know they lost. It counts though as it is the same franchise. Not counting it would be like saying the Giants have never won a WS. The SF Giants haven't but the NY Giants weren't too shabby

You know the best part...

We were down 0-3 against the yankees...and 4-3 in the 8th in game four..

and we won four in a row... The greatest comeback in American History...perhaps world history. We went to NYC and whopped them good... Remember Damon's Grand Slam? LMAO.. Oh My God... I could barely contain myself. They replayed the games OVER and OVER all winter on HOT STOVE Baseball on NESN...and I'd leave it on when I went to bed.... and just lie there listening with a big grin on my mug... Got to say the one about Bill Buckner still gets me. He was my favorite player growing up. Only guy the Cubs had for several years that could hit anything. He gets vilified in Boston, but a) it never would have come to that if the pitchers could have gotten anyone out, b) the manager did not make the late inning defensive replacement for him like he always did before, c) that was game 6 as well!!!! They still could have won it the next day and didn't. I do not hate Boston because I like the Yankees. I hate what happened to Buckner

A few that got me smiling:

36. All the bandwagon fans. As recently as 1998, the Red Sox ranked just ninth out of 14 teams in the American League in attendance.
37. That time Manny Ramirez played left field with a water bottle in his back pocket.
45. Fans booing Ted Williams back in the day.

46. Williams giving the fans the finger.

69. The entire 1978 team for blowing a 14-game lead and letting the Yankees advance to the playoffs.

75. The meltdown by Fenway fans in Game 4 of the 1999 ALCS, when a controversial call on the field led to fans bombarding the field with plastic bottles and other trash.

4. Johnny Damon. One .300 season out of four does not make you a star. Enough with the book, the ripping of the ex-wife, and the Page 3 photo galleries (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=schoenfield/050412#).

5. Curt Schilling's bloody sock. Hockey players mock this.

He's doing what the Polticians frequently do....massaging figures to make you think something. In 1989 the park seated about 25,000 comfortably, and 32,000 jammed to capacity including standing room only and all the Bleacher seats. Below are the 1989 figures. Those are not bandwagon numbers.

Attendance 1,701,180
Attendance / Game 27,438

Plus we had a H0-hum year

1989 Record: BOS 162 83 79 .512

Now , The 1989 yankoffs on the other hand

Attendance 2,115,502
Attendance / Game 34,121

lil Better Numbers, But remember, You have a Metro area of 11 million, we have a metro area of 3.5 million. And you have 26 Worldchampionships, and in 1989 we hadn't won one in 80 years. I pray, dare tell, that the NY Numbers would be a 1/3 of what they were, had you been in an 80 year drought.

So you see.... There are NO weapons of mass destruction. (yet again)

Oh please. Just look at the history. The Yankees are the team anyone who wants a baseball team dreams about because they win. Too bad if they spend the money and are aggressive about getting the best players they can. That's what it's all about. And heck, usually the team performs even when the individuals don't.

Enjoy your championship Boston fans. It was a long, long, long time in the making.

Lets take this slow.

11 Million divided by two = 5.5 million per team

3.5 million divided by one = 3.5 mllion per team

As Carl Spackler once said "I have to laugh!"
One thing I do notice about you lately is that your doing a lot of laughing.

Its ok to let out the pain. Cry it out. Don't cover up that pain with laughter.

Your early hopes and expectations have been crushed. Your 4 and 5, in last place, you just got beat 2 of 3 at Fenway...and it hurts. And I know it does. So let it out.. Don't cover it up by whistling in the dark. I can see fear in your eyes. It's RED SOX century. Pay back time.

Your teams Behavior last night was a Black Mark on all of Baseball. And thats the 2nd time in 2 years that a YANKEE has attacked an innocent man at Fenway. Jeff Nelson pleaded guilty to a vicous attack on a Bullpen boy last year. Something must be done about the reckless and illegal behavior of Yankee players.

CLEARLY Joe was talking about the guy who at the VERY LEAST interfered with the PLAY on the FIELD, AND the guy who THREW his beer at Gary Sheffield....and if you watch the replay, the beer was thrown BEFORE Gary went to shove the guy who hit him in the face.

Even your OWN BELOVED Johnny Damon understood this point, clear as day, as I saw him interviewed after the game.
