I think its pretty good. Hey they can't do much worse than they have recently.

Reyes will be awesome if he can stay healthy. Kaz is very useful.

Beltran - Piazza - Floyd - very solid middle of lineup.

Cameron - great defensively and not terrible at the plate.

Mientkiewicz

Wright - will develop into a pretty good ball player

Martinez - :)

Reyes has upside. Matsui was disappointing with the stick last year but has some upside as well. Wright. Who? Mient... Piazza is no spring chicken. I don't look for more than an average season from him, especially if he is catching. Personally, I think they would have been better off getting a serviceable catcher and putting him at first base. Cliff Floyd is as good as his body allows him to be. As a hitter, Mike Cameron is a helluva an outfielder and a great guy.

That leaves Beltran. A super talent who, if he can handle NY, could emerge as the biggest star in the game. The flip side is, of course, that he could be a huge free agent bust. I will lean to the former.

The lineup is an improvement. It would have looked mucho better with Senor Delgado.

Hammer, I was playing tampa bay downs that afternoon with the game on in the background. I wanted to see how Pedro did his first game. He had a good debut. Then, I had to go out to the room at the end and see if I wasn't hearing things. They blew that one.

We all know going into the season that this is our Achilles Heel.

I can't say I was upset about yesterday's game since I have a futures play on the Reds over 77.5 wins. Seems like the Mets could use some more punch with that infield.

Kaz did hit a HR yesterday :jump: and hopefully we can expect some power from Wright. But I think you are right Valuist.

Okay, I have to give the Mets lineup a chance. I brought this thread up with a buddy of mine who is as into baseball as I am into horses. He thinks the Mets lineup has great POTENTIAL. He thinks Matsui and Reyes can be good table setters for Piazza and Beltran. He really thinks Piazza can have a career year. I disagree with this as cathers in their late 30s who have played as many games as Piazza just don't have career years. He really believes the Mets can score some runs. One thing we both agreed on is that Cameron should be the CF over Beltran. The guy is an amazing outfielder. His defense made us Seattle fans forget Griffey...in the field. The Ks are another matter.

Hopefully Wright will give us some pop in the back end of the lineup also.

Joe Randa and Adam Dunn.............the only two names in the Reds lineup that mattered to the Mets this last week..............

Randa hits a walk off winner on opening day.........Dunn gets 5 RBI's

Randa beats em again in game two..............

As my O's smashed the Yankees last night, I couldn't help but wonder, could the Mets be headed to history by beating the O's record of most losses to start a season? Inquiring minds want to know!

Yeah, I love the "blown save, cheap win" I get for my fantasy baseball team while only using one inning. ;)
