Picks for Santa Anita Sunday:
R1 #5 Summer Soliel-Gets a key jock switch here (T/J clicking at 30%+). Drop not all that suspicious. Can’t see getting 4/1 here though.
R2 #3 Bahamian Magic-Came up a little short in his US debut. Has been drilling well in the am since then. Expect a better effort today for good trainer.
R3 #5 Court Shenanigans-Soundness questions for a few runners in this heat. That’s not an issue for this oldtimer that’s approaching triple digit starts. Should get first jump when the meltdown occurs up front.
R4 #9 Souvenir Zone-Dangerous T/J combo for price runners. Breeding is ok, works are blah. That’s why the price will definitely be there.
R5 #4 My Outlet-The probable leader here unless she hates the grass. Barn does well with the first turf/ dirt to turf move. Jock brings home the price runners on the grass too.
R6 #9 Mammoth Power-Makes a substantial barn upgrade via the claim. Trainer/jock click at 30% + . Expect a good effort here.
R7 #1 Death Trappe-Beware, this one has run well on this downhill course in the past. PVal has already struck with a win with this barn. Old timer has been drilling steadily for this.
R8 #5 Jungle Prince-Ran very well after battling with two others for the lead. Had only one runner pass him in the lane off a blistering pace. I’ll take a shot with double digit odds.
R9 #8 Littlebitofzip-His numbers look good here. Trainer jock hitting at better than 40%.
R10 #11 Tizzy Time-Has some fast works in the am for his initial try against MCL. Field came up a little soft, so he’s the play here.
