A horse on my watch list, Rationalexuberance (12/1 ML), is in this race, a MCL, $80K-75K.

The ML chalk (4/5) is KELLY K'S PLEASURE. Here's a couple things I'm curious about. Is there any meaning in a high priced claimer? Does it make the drop from MSW less steep? Are these races written for a purpose (y'know, I mean a secret, devious purpose)? Does it mean anything as far as the horse's ability to compete in MSW?

I haven't seen a Form, can anyone tell me how much KELLY K'S PLEASURE was purchased for? Does THAT mean anything (if it's much more than the tag)?

Finally, KELLY K'S PLEASURE is a filly. The rest of the field are colts. What the...? Why? Even if she scratches, what was the point of entering?

And if she does scratch, should I bet $3 instead of two on Rationalexuberance?

$12,800.00. Had some ITM. born 2002. Nice sire! Maybe the horse is an April fool's joke!

There are 2 geldings in the race; Jenkins is then trainer; same owner and breeder; this is no joke.
Your colt is sniffing Kelly's rear in the post parade and is next door in the gate; they are 3 year olds.
You should email Tom McSchell- he will know your answers!

KELLY K'S PLEASURE did scratch, and Rationalexuberance paid $12.60.
