I was wondering how many S. Calif racegoers think this is a good
idea. They should sell all the Hollywood Park property(which alot
of it is parking lot space) EXCEPT the casino where they play
cards and just keep in tact part of it for satelite wagering. Because
if they sell all of it people in my part of town the westside of
Los Angeles will have no close by wagering facillity.

Graded and Group designations are international black type races where owners and breeders get additonal value on their charges when they win these type of races. From my limited knowledge, there is a committee that designates what races are Graded/Group I, II or III. The winners of these races are believed to show a greater amount of class and their bloodlines are valuable based on the number and type of events that they win. The committee grade races based on the track, distance and surface these races are run on. Do you think for a minute that Churchill Downs would or the graded committee would allow the Kentucky Derby to be a Grade I race for 3 years olds run at Aqueduct or Los Alamitos. No if the race is moved to another track you can be sure that the committee would reevaluate the race designation. It is done every year where races are moved up or down on the grade scale.

The United Nations retained its Grade 1 status after it moved from Atlantic City to Monmouth.

Here is my prediction: The Vanity (GRI) will retain it's status as a GRI event in Southern California. I failed to post the GRII's and the GRIII's, because I thought the lose of GRI's were at least thought provoking. I enjoy the United Nations Handicap as an international event and am glad that it has retained its GRI.
