2.20PM AEST - Ballarat R5 No10 Raphael - 1.0% Win - Went with the well bred Raphael in this. By Pentire Celebre and forget last effort against stronger and go on good win 2 back over todays distance. That day at Ballarat won eased down by 2.8 lengths defeating Golden Notes and Our Brockie in Class 2 company with big margins back through the field. Well suited here today from the good alley and although minor queries exist is still definitely the one to beat in this from the good alley. EmpowerISV.com Factor - 75%
3.00PM AEST - Ballarat R6 No1 King Durham - 2.0% Win - Hard to go past the class runner King Durham here. Gets some weight relief with the apprentice on board and class should get him home against this average lot. Well bred by Desert King out of the Zabeel mare Sansabeel and is 1st up over 1400m which is a minor query as does prefer longer but is capable over the trip. The biggest query is not the other runners (except Pawie), but the fact it is drawn wide and with an apprentice on board may get caught 3 or 4 deep in this small field behind the leaders under the pace scenario. 4.20PM AEST - Ballarat R8 No1 Message Bank - 2.5% Win - Very hard to dismiss the chances of the lightly raced improver Message Bank in this. 4th run this preperation now and at peak fitness on back of huge win last start when treated field with total contempt to skip clear and win by 4 lengths eased down over this course and distance. Defeated smart types that day and form references out of that race are full of merit. Likely for a good run on pace and will prove hard to run down in the stretch from the good alley.
