You know of course that the Romans spoke Latin. Unfortunately I'm not a Roman. Hence my "Biggus Dickus" joke on another thread. Along with Python, it's the only Latin I know.;)

Nice quote Shac. I like it. And I'm happy for you that you were in the front of the line when the above were handed out.:D

Over the years, quite a few legacy boys at PA and Yale have benefitted from extensive personal tutoring. However, can anyone recall another President who has been tutored as extensively as Bush? Many observers believe we might be better off if the tutor was our President today.

If Clinton runs in 2008, I think it may be Rice versus Clinton because Bill's scandals would pluck the marital card out of Hillary's hand. However, as badly as foreign and domestic affairs have been bungled, I hope Rice doesn't let herself become a sacrificial lamb in a year the GOP has conceded defeat. She deserves better than that.

2008 is too soon for Obama. After a full Senate term, Obama will probably run in 2012 (or 2016 if Hillary runs in 2008), and his wife will be the kind of asset Hillary was for Bill in 1992. She may be even smarter than Clinton and Rice.

Finally, the wild card in 2008/2012 could be a Hispanic GOP candidate. If Bush succeeds in bringing Mexico into the Union, Mexico will have far and away the most electoral votes. Some might even argue that this would grandfather Fox's constitutional citizenship status and enable him to run.

MR. RUSSERT: Before you go, you know there's been enormous speculation about your political future. Will you serve your full six-year term as U.S. senator from Illinois?

SEN.-ELECT OBAMA: Absolutely. You know, a little--some of this hype's been a little overblown. It's flattering, but I have to remind people that I haven't been sworn in yet. I don't know where the rest rooms are in the Senate. I'm going to have to figure out how to work the phones, answer constituent mail. I expect to be in the Senate for quite some time, and hopefully I'll build up my seniority from my current position, which I believe is 99th out of 100.
