Hello All,

I'm new to Letitride.

I've been reading your posts for about two weeks now, you guys are pretty good. Take a look at the pace parameters at the following link. Dr. Roman uses linear regression to project the 10f Time, 10fTurn Time and the 10fLast Quarter of horses running in the Derby preps. His numbers provide an insight as to how your horse might handle the Classic distance. http://www.chef-de-race.com/2005_derby_pace_parameters.htm

I've been watching Roman's Performance Figs for a few years; kind of interesting. I'm no mathematician, so I don't get too bogged down in the methodology, but I alway like yet another quantifier to compare and contrast.

I did notice, real quick, that Sun King is a Dual Qualifier, and meets or exceeds (green box) the standard set for a final quarter time going 10f. Something to consider as the winnowing out gets more serious.

I guess Declan's Moon is too, but I remain skeptical of him, for a variety of reasons, none of which may be any good.

Ras,

IMO, the numbers take most of the guess work out of this whole process.

New numbers tell us just how well all the horses did last weekend.
