How much of a effect does the starting gate placement have on the time of the second call ?
How much distance does it take an average horse to reach full stride?
How do you find out the run up distances for non southern california tracks?:cool:

Probably a great deal of affect depending on how far to the turn and how crummy the track is between gate and first call.

AT BEST...Wouldn't worry about it
