Now what?

So Harlan's Holiday, the horse people thought had a legitimate shot at winning the Kentucky Derby, just turned in one of the slowest times in Blue Grass history. If people came away sharply criticizing Came Home for his slow time in the Santa Anita Derby, what will that mean for Harlan's Holiday?? (Of course, Came Home has been the center of criticism for quite a while now).

If this is a mediocre group of 3yos, then shouldn't we be accepting mediocre times from everyone?

It all depends on how slow/fast the other races on the card went....I haven't looked yet....

Of course, that is relevant. I haven't looked too closely at the times at Keeneland for today either, but somehow I doubt the track was playing slow ... and I don't think Keeneland carded another 9 furlong race for a direct comparison, either.
