I was reading about a presiding judge at Dover Downs who got fired and they mentioned that the salary for a presiding judge was $320 per racing day.

Dover races 6 days a week, and if my math is correct, that puts him at just short of $100,000 per year..

Associate judges make $282 per day, which is just short of $88,000

I had no idea they made such decent money..

The difference is that Dover does not race year round. Those same judges may or may not go to Harrington when they open up.

Being a judge/steward is a very good paying job, but it takes forever to obtain it.

The head judge did preside at Harrington too, so he made a decent yearly salary..

Of course now he's making $0.
