Apart from DRF Beyer figures what other resources are out there? I want to make my own Speed and Pace ratings but would like as many short cuts as possible. So is there anyone selling accurate sectional times, standard times for tracks and track variants?

Start here, http://www.horsestreet.com/products/index.html#Par%20Times or use the charts.

cheers SF. they certainly cover the Pars.

Any idea about track variants available seperately from any of the speed rating providers? I guess it would be possible to work out the variants they usefrom the speed figures but would be better just get get the variant seperately.

I see Equibase has leader sectionals and teh position in runninga nd LBW at various points around teh track. Do these LBW positions match the leader sectionals? OR is there anyone that already converts this data into sectional time per horse format?

Calculating the daily variant from the Beyer numbers is fairly easy and for the most part, they are decent variants.

They keep the average drf style variant. http://www.cynthiapublishing.com/pars.html

I found a story with a press release dated December 1997 that stated that the Daily Racing Programme would be providing individual fractional times for all horses - I guess the Daily Racing Programme is now defunct?

A new feature in DRP's day-of program that's sure to interest many handicappers is the inclusion of every horse's individual fractional times, not just the fractions of the leader at each call.

For example: Pacific Echo, who won her second race in two starts at Hollywood Park on Wednesday, would have her individual fractions from the first race (at 6 furlongs) listed in this manner: :21 3/5, :23 2/5, :12 1/5, :13.

This gives her fractional times for the first quarter-mile, second quarter, fifth furlong and sixth furlong. By adding the last two numbers together, you see she ran her final quarter-mile in :25 1/5.
