Yeah, I just read this on Comcast as well. The headline and wording is so misleading. Bush isn't in favor of it, the article goes on to state this once or twice, because he was asked, said he hadn't ruled it out. So now the headline on Comastcast for the article was "Bush May Raise Social Security Taxes". Sheesh. Let's see what happens with this debate and possible plans first. Oh, the media.

Of course, when Bush wanted to secure the funding for the existing wars, the Comcast headlines boldly noted "Bush Wants ($xxx whatever dollars) For Wars". Yeah, existing ones and operations.

Plus now Syria and Iran have now formally announced they are joining forces to combat "threats". We know where this is going. One country out of the Axis of Evil, another one joins. Lets see if they start working with No. Korea.

Sorry, I'm ranting now. Things aren't going to be pretty for a while. Wouldn't be any prettier had the last 2 elections gone the other way either.

Bush told several newspapers about his tax hike plans, one of them being the New Haven Register. I would post the link but some people on this Forum don't like that.

Posting the link itself is legit here, pasting a full copy of a subscriber-based article is the sticking point for PA, legally.

Does one need to be a subscriber of the New Haven Resigster? Free reads should be fine. If is is a subscriber link, you could post a link, warn people with a line about the registration, and let folks decide whether to subscribe to read it.

The New Haven Register is a free read. Here's the link for everyone:

This is an outrage. It won't take much of an increase in the ceiling to completly eat my tax cut! At least Kerry told us who he would raise taxes on!

Hey, SCF, why do you single me out? You, of all people, should know (remember) that I'm a lukewarm supporter of Bush comparitively speaking. I even stated before this last election that my voting for him was due more to not wanting the likes of Kerry in office.

I also posted after 9/11 that I thought Bush had a liberal stripe running down his back a bit too wide for my liking. I even called him a "closet liberal" and a "fence straddler".

Bush has done quite a bit to make me unhappy. Would it shock me if he raised taxes? Not at all. Like father, like son -- maybe.

You Dems criticize Bush for the tax cut, then you criticize him for a potential tax increase..

Ohhhhhh, I forgot, the only way to please the Dems is to leave everything exactly the way it is forever..

Don't get your knickers in a twist. Has there been a tax increase? No and not likely. Don't forget, Bush always ahead of Dems.
