Picks for Santa Anita Sunday:
R1 Pass
R2 #7 Garden Whimsy-Lightly raced runner has every right to improve here. Certainly bred to handle off going.
R3 Pass
R4 #7 Cleft-Mandella does well when moving runners to the turf. AP Indy decent with turf runners. Expecting him to move up with the switch.
R5 #6 Mudweiser-Breeding says yes for FTS. Machowsky doing reasonably well with them also. Works hint at some ability. Price should be good.
R6 #2 Kirkendahl-Didn’t take to 2 turns very well in last effort. Bounce was possibly the reason for the poor race, he’s been drilling well for this.
R7 #3 Never Surrender-Looking for him to regain some of the ability he showed last year. Trainer/jock clicking at 28%, price should be right.
R8 #7 Hollywood Story-Showed tremendous late foot in last race, closing to win when they were moving late. Has more pace to run at today, so this proven grade 1 performer looks tough here.
R9 #6 Ricky J-Makes logical move to turf in second start for juice trainer. Bad running lines could be blamed perhaps on the off surfaces.
