Just got a new computer, and before I can set up e-mail, I have to enter my incoming and outgoing servers. Anyway to find the info without diving into the sea of cords behind the desk, pulling the cable out of new comp., inserting it in old comp., etc., etc. ... ?

On the old computer, if you use Outlook or Outlook Express, go to

Tools> accounts> properties> servers

You will find your incoming and outgoing mail servers there.

You will also find your login but your password will be masked.

Toetoe,

He really doesn't like Schwartzy. He much prefers Davie-poo.

A close friend.

DSchmi,
Do you mind "Bull Schmidt?"

Dave Schwartz,
I just sent you a private message re. e-mail problems, and now it occurs to me that I probably won't be able to receive your answer. Can you help me "over the air?"
Thanks,
----Chris

LOL - And I responded.

You asked how you could get the password out.

The answer to your question is - call Ralphie. <G>

Seriously, maybe Ralph can tell you better than me. I believe you can get it from the registry but I could not tell you how.

Perhaps JR can.

The easy way is to call your ISP.

I dont know of any off hand, but I know that there are programs that will allow you to "uncover" masked passwords. Try download.com and see what you can get for password recovery.

Toe (hope you don't mind if I use your first name),

Bull was my nickname all through college, and I still have a few friends left over from that time that call me Bull. I would guess that it is a common nick for anyone who is big and named Schmidt.

Da Bull

If the shoe fits, buy the other one, too.

Dave

Not if you use Roadrunner! I had to go through Pakistan, Mexico, and Sri Lanka to get my password when I moved my email! I SWEAR Bin Laden was my on-line tech!
