The Gr. III Risen Star, the traditional prep for the Louisiana Derby, pulled in its best field ever Saturday with 5 strong locals, 4 Cali cruisers and 2 Florida stars in the making..
The 11 horse field is wide open with nearly no "auto toss" candidates given how well New Orleans-based entrants run in the FG derby preps..
We look at the field, take a stab at the Top 5 and also remember the late Risen Star himself, the great Preakness-Belmont winner...

We've added 30 members in the past month including a number of PA regs, and invite everybody to join if they haven't yet... We had messages from Steve Haskin and DRF's Steve Grabowski this week and expect the discussion to keep intensifying with every passing prep on the road to Derby 131!
