This is a really great story from Bill Heller at the Thoroughbred Times. Touching, but also light hearted, funny and an enjoyable Read.

Imbraile and The Director of Communications, Bill Mathis are retiring. The Article is about the two of them.

Snip-pit

Maybe anywhere but Chicago. In the late summer of 1982, following a change in track management at Arlington Park, Imbriale worked as the replacement for legendary Chicago announcer Phil Georgeff. Imbriale lasted six weeks.

"I was soundly and roundly booed on the first race, which I screwed up royally," Imbriale said with a laugh. "There were articles. One letter said going from Georgeff to Imbriale was like going from Secretariat to a $5,000 claimer."
