Does anybody know when this takes place? this is a tuneup for the Derby right?

Dear Al & CJ,

The Arkansas Derby, the biggest day of the year down here where I live, will be run this year on Saturday, April 16th, as usual, three weeks before the Kentucky Derby.

John Servis has Rockport Harbor trying to take the same road to Kentucky as Smarty Jones, and Tim Richey has a nice colt stabled here this spring trying to do the same thing. His name? Afleet Alex---runner up in last year's Breeder's Cup Juvenile.

Y'all come see us. There will be 50,000 fans on hand and the corned beef sandwiches are to die for. :)
