Is Aqueduct ever going to fix the display of "odds on" horses' odds to stop showing weird odds like "3/4" that I'm looking at for the 7 horse in the 7th race? This has been going on for a while now.

I've noticed that. I think the UK bet shops put odds in terms of fourths, like 9-4 on a horse between 2-1 and 5-2. I'm guessing the horse at Aqu was between 3-5 and 4-5.

The horse that was DQed in the 8th was also "3/4" all the way around the track.

I have only noticed that on horses that are 3/5 and they put 3/4. Other than that, I havent noticed anything wrong with the display of odds. That does get annoying to see though.

What about these jerks that cant put up the right #'s when the horses are running, or are to slow to get it right, In the stretch, if your not sure of the odds on a horse, they are always so slow with the top 4 #'s displayed. It happens at AQUE often, but I noticed other tracks have incompetent people doing that job. It's really mind boggling to think that they cant get it right.
It's like the only thing they do.

Those odds were right - 3/4 pays $3.50!

3/4 are correct odds. They also show 1/4.

What's wrong with this? Just because it's different?

When you have "nickel" breakage why would you want 3/5 when the horse is actually 3/4. Other than Canada, what other North American tracks break to the nickel like NY?

If the answer is none, then they have no reason to use 3/4 which is $0.75 to the dollar odds.

I know Finger Lakes has it. I also believe N.Y.R.A and Finger Lakes use the same tote company, but you knew that already. ;)

Fig,
I think he meant only N.Y., and 3/4 is exactly right for a $3.50 horse, as posted twice in this thread.

Why is it only shown on the video output, and not on the tote board? It will show 3/5 on the tote and 3/4 on the screen.

Tote board is probably hard programmed for fifths while screen display is displayed without restriction.

NYRA switched tote companies when they installed the new machines. These new odds displays are obviously a consequence of this switch. I find it odd though, that the infield tote board does not display the "odd" odds....

Isn't that odd? ;) :D

Hey, it's still better than The Woodlands in Kansas City.

During live horse racing, the tote shows the payoffs for a $2 bet, to the nearest dime. You have to ignore the change and divide by two if you want to know the odds.

For greyhounds, it shows regular odds. I can't decide if they think horse players are smarter or dumber than puppy players.
