Trip to SA

Hi Guys,
Going to be going down to SA for the Derby, it will be my first time there and I was wondering in anyone could make a suggestion as to where to stay (or give warning on where NOT to stay)?

We were thinking a place within walking distance of the track would be ideal, but not necessary.
