I just listened to the beginning of Richard Eng's show and no first round results were given. Eng is a contestant at the Orleans and I was hoping to hear that one of your HTR buds was leading.

If I hear anything, I'll pass it on.

Got an email from Glen, sez some HTR guys did very well (tied for 2nd) but he didn't do well the first day himself unfortunately.

The HTR contenders caught the $60 horse at BM, and the $40 horse at OP in the contest, and Glen caught the OP race 10 super on a REAL ticket FOR $1,700. (way to go GR1).

A lot of "new" programs are getting a lot of trumpeting lately (past posting their picks), but HTR still seems to be the arss kicker in these contests. Congrats to them!

Not that HTR doesn't hurt, I imagine most of those guys would do pretty well with or without the program. They are a sharp bunch, as are most here.

You might be right about that. Some of those guys are pretty sharp. I find it odd tho, that HTR seems to do better in these contests on a consistent basis. Not that I think contests are an accurate measuring stick of handicapping, but HTR seems to prove out their product on a regular basis in these things. I can't think of anyone else doing better in a visable way other than past-posting their picks.

Things going great for the group down here. After day 1, 5 of the 7 top slots filled by htr'ers...After day 2, htr players hold places 2,3 (Massa), 5, 6, 8, 10, 15, and 20. There might be more up there but not quite sure...Pretty amazing considering there are almost 700 entries. Will be a wild and crazy day for the six figure payoff...<<<<<<<<

Thanks. Haven't heard from Glen today. Looks like they were kicking but.

As for HTR. I would imagine some of those folks would do fine without HTR. I'll bet none of them would want to. Everyone uses it a little different which is why so many can play the tourney and have different picks.

Orleans tourney was lots of fun and always a great learning exprience. The time spent in the trenches with awsome handicapers is well worth the entry fee of $500.

The tournament conistist of making 12 plays/day for 3 days.
Contest tracks are all the major ones: SA, BM, AQU, KEE, OP, PIM, GP, and SPT.

To give an example of how difficult it is to win: If a player goes 36/36 (impossible feat) with an average mutual of $6.00, he/she would of taken 2nd place in this tourney.

With almost 700 entries, I was glad to see 3 of the top 5 finishers were fellow HTR users. 8/10 of HTR users finished in the top 50.

Personally, I fininished way back in the pack. Went 2/36 with winners paying $83.40 and $30.80. With an ROI of 1.54 it was good for about 220th place. Pretty stiff competition...
