I don’t know if I’m right but I was under the assumption that these races always became “alls” in this circumstance. But the arbitrary thing is that they waited until after the race? As in most of these “Saratoga deals” it seems like someone was sleeping at the wheel again . Shouldn’t that race be declared an “all” as soon as it’s pulled from the turf when bets were already made in the pick 5? I didn’t get there until the 3 rd race Thursday.

First, it was taken off the race before post time, so that should have ruled out the "all" provision. The problem is it was done so close to post time that many people didn't know or didn't have time to adjust.

Second, it was changing it to an all well after the race was run.

There really was no easy answer. Mistakes were made for sure, and probably in the end the fairest decision was made. It was the timing on both fronts that needs work.

And maybe hire someone who reads the rules ahead of time.
Protocols for that situation should be established and understood beforehand.
