Why does the on screen payout never match with the announcers prices at Maywood and Balmoral?

If the track is running the graphics, wouldn't they post prices AFTER track take-outs?

I believe if you play on track (and I think OTBs) at Maywood and Balmoral, they have a higher takeout or a surcharge.. That is why payouts are higher to people wagering out of state..

Yup, there is a 1% in-state surcharge on all wagers placed on Illinois races within the State of Illinois.
