As you can see there are plenty outside looking in. Those that are serious about running in the Derby need to get busy in the last Graded prep races. Plus you have late sensations Buddha, Yankee Gentleman, Mr. Mellon, Sunday Break and Essayons who just won a 9f mdn at Aqu by 15 thinking about it. Hey, Derby fever strikes quickly.

Very cool bdhsheets. This certainly seems like a year when there will be an overflow field.

The next wave of preps will tell us a lot. At this point, I would think Drysdale is figuring if all goes well in the Wood, he'd like Sunday Break to take the next step by going to the Derby. As for Buddha, I think his camp is just starting to entertain ideas of hitting one of the last major preps .. like the Wood.

You know a few more of these will drop off because of injury, but then again, a few more will pop up with late visions of getting in, too.
