Neil Drysdale's Sunday Break had to survive a steward's inquiry today at Aqueduct after weaving through the lane like a drunk! Actually, he looked more like a goofy kid coming down the lane. As the horses turned for home in the five horse field, Sunday Break had moved to command from the outside, and looked like he was going to cruise to an easy score. However, when tapped on the shoulder by Gary Stevens, the Forty Niner colt dropped in sharply. Bred in Japan, the colt appeared as though he was losing interest without running company, and with that, began looking around. Pletcher's Tomahawk Lake came back at Sunday Break along the rail, and appeared to be put in close quarters when Sunday Break once again darted toward the rail, meanwhile, Nick Zito's Iwin was gaining on the outside. But, the hyped horse dug in when it counted and drew clear late, looking professional in the final jumps, but he sure made the bettors sweat! After reviewing the replay (the head-on), it was evident that Sunday Break did not impede Tomahawk Lake.
