TRN is available from Canada according to this website www.satellitedishcanada.com . Phone#1 800 551 8388. Initial cost less than $200. Old "dish" hardware is usable. Track availability is limited.

Have you talked to them?
Reason that I ask is that TRN is no longer in operation. Magna has a new setup with limited channels for about $100 month that I believe is called RTN.
Yes I talked to them. TRN is very much alive in Canada.
Forgot to add that cost is less than $30/mnth.

I think he means that TRN Canada is now available in the US.. I was going to do it before I got DSL, but now I have TVG and DSL, so I can see what I need.

I called them (Bell Express view). I live in Ohio their TRN 1,2,3,4 service cost $17.47 @ month and is available to US customers.
The receiver cost $125 if you re-use the dish that was provided if you bought TRN from the DISH network, otherwise $150. Shipping is 24.95 and there is a annual US programming fee of $50.
You need to re-aim your dish at their satellite.
Now I ask you how can Bell Express View offer racing at what amounts to $21.63 a month, While Magna offers essentially the same thing at $100 a month?
Just shows what money gouging SOBs the boys over at Magna really are.
Mike Dee,
looks like CanTRN went up $20 per month. It's going for $37.47 now. I know for a fact that last week it said $17.47. I guess they've had some new customers since FrankTV began and figured out they can "Frank" the new customers at will. Must be the 'Canadian way' <g>.
All of a sudden the CanTRN service is worth more that twice what it was last week?? This industry never ceases to amaze me....

They probably got a bunch of orders and figured they could raise the price. I never ordered the service, I was going to send them a email and find out how often they broadcast the US tracks. The post that they only broadcast the major US tracks 2 days a week scared me off.
I guess I will just keep watching on YouBet and keep sending emails to my cable company to pick up TVG.

Ditto that!
Has anyone EVER seen an industry where they try any harder to run their customers off? More than doubling their price must set real well with their newer customers that have already paid for the equipment and such.
And what is this two-day-a-week stuff? I'm beginning to think that the words horseracing, television, clueless & underlay, belong in the same sentence ALL of the time.
Per the schedule, they show NYRA, WO, GP every racing day. The major midwest meet running at the time (FG, KEE, CD, AP) and so cal is shown almost each day. The others are shown on occasion, perhaps twice a week. If you follow mid-atlantic, Calder, no Cal or lesser midwest meets you get few chances to see your races.
The sudden, significant jump in fees really is what gets me.
