A buy of all single letter stocks on the NYSE on 12/31/2003 close would have returned 15.23% year to date.

100 shares of each of the 18 stocks would have cost $83,765 and would have returned $12761 PLUS $562 in dividends

Is this simply dumb luck? Or is there a basis behind the profit on single letter stocks?

The stock portfolio for people with really bad memories!

"I've got a good stock for you."
"Nah, I can't remember those stock codes."
"That's the beauty if it. It's only one letter."
"Hey I can remember a letter. OK I'm sold!"

But how did it do last year?????

After more years then I care to mention, I have decided to terminate my Gold membership account with Bris.
Unable to find profit in the risks offered in horses racing I’ll just concentrate on defining risk.

Today, risk is defined by standard deviation. There are other definitions that may be more meaningful to the risk takers. I’ll be doing some (hopefully) original work on risk.
