The federation announced on Oct. 8 that the urine sample of Cian O'Connor's horse, Waterford Crystal, tested positive for prohibited substances.
On Tuesday, O'Connor announced that a second blood sample from the horse had also tested positive for two human anti-psychotic drugs — fluphenazine and zuclopenthixol.
With two positive samples, O'Connor faces being stripped of Ireland's only medal from the Athens Games. If Ireland loses the gold, the medal would go to Brazil's Rodrigo Pessoa.
