President Trump’s 2016 campaign chairman posed a “grave counterintelligence threat” due to his interaction with people close to the Kremlin, according to a bipartisan Senate report released Tuesday that found extensive contacts between key campaign advisers and officials affiliated with Russia’s government and intelligence services.

In its nearly 1,000-page report, the Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee found that Trump’s then-campaign chair Paul Manafort worked with a Russian intelligence officer “on narratives that sought to undermine evidence that Russia interfered in the 2016 U.S. election,” including the idea that purported election interference emanating from Ukraine was of greater concern.

But the panel also concluded that the FBI’s handling of Russian threats to the 2016 election was “flawed” and that the bureau gave “unjustified credence” to allegations about Trump’s Russia ties made in a dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele, “based on an incomplete understanding of Steele’s past reporting record.”

“After more than three years of investigation by this Committee, we can now say with no doubt, there was no collusion,” a group of six panel Republicans, including Rubio, wrote in a statement instead accusing the Democratic Party of coordinating with foreign actors to produce Steele’s dossier.

The FBI’s conduct continues to be investigated by a number of entities, most notably Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham, who was specially tapped by Attorney General William P. Barr to explore the origins of the Russia probe and other matters. In the first criminal case to grow from Durham’s inquiry, a former FBI lawyer is expected to plead guilty Wednesday to falsifying a document in the Russia case. [B]Durham also is likely to interview former CIA Director John Brennan on Friday, according to a person familiar with the investigation.

Typical response from all you alternate universe head-in-sand bubble dwellers. No hoax Tumpite as your moron claims.

Your cherry picked sentences only highlight there was no "criminal" collusion conspiracy. Mueller's high bar of proof forc a sitting president. No conspiracy because it was in clear sight. And ignores the counterintelligence ramifications and the Trump's campaign willingness to receive Vlad's help in the main context and headline
"Senate report details security risk posed by 2016 Trump campaign’s Russia contacts"

...An exhaustive investigation led by members of President Trump’s own political party portrays his 2016 campaign as posing counterintelligence risks through its myriad contacts with Russia, eager to exploit assistance from the Kremlin and seemingly determined to conceal the full extent of its conduct from a multiyear Senate probe.
.................................................. .................................

A 1,000 page bipartisan senate report unanimously concludes

1)-contains dozens of new findings that appear to show more direct links between Trump associates and Russian intelligence, and it pierces the president’s long-standing attempts to dismiss the Kremlin’s intervention on his behalf as a hoax.

2)-Like the Mueller report before it, the nearly 1,000-page Senate document does not explicitly accuse the Trump campaign of direct collusion with Russian intelligence. But the Senate report carries particular weight because it is the first major investigation of Russian interference in 2016 to be conducted by a Republican-controlled committee and endorsed by both Republicans and Democrats.

3)-The report’s language is often stark, describing Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort’s receptivity to Russian outreach as a “grave counterintelligence threat” that made the campaign susceptible to “malign Russian influence.”

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump campaign’s interactions with Russian intelligence services during the 2016 presidential election posed a “grave” counterintelligence threat, a Senate panel concluded Tuesday as it detailed how associates of Donald Trump had regular contact with Russians and expected to benefit from the Kremlin’s help.

The nearly 1,000-page report, the fifth and final one from the Republican-led Senate intelligence committee on the Russia investigation, details how Russia launched an aggressive effort to interfere in the election on Trump’s behalf. It says the Trump campaign chairman had regular contact with a Russian intelligence officer and that other Trump associates were eager to exploit the Kremlin’s aid, particularly by maximizing the impact of the disclosure of Democratic emails hacked by Russian intelligence officers.

"The Committee found that Manafort’s presence on the Campaign and proximity to Trump created opportunities for Russian intelligence services to exert influence over, and acquire confidential information on, the Trump Campaign. Taken as a whole, Manafort’s high-level access and willingness to share information with individuals closely affiliated with the Russian intelligence services . . . represented a grave counterintelligence threat.”

"While Russian military intelligence and WikiLeaks were releasing hacked documents, the Trump Campaign sought to maximize the impact of those leaks to aid Trump’s electoral prospects. Staff on the Trump Campaign sought advance notice about WikiLeaks releases, created messaging strategies to promote and share the materials in anticipation of and following their release, and encouraged further leaks. The Trump Campaign publicly undermined the attribution of the hack-and-leak campaign to Russia and was indifferent to whether it and WikiLeaks were furthering a Russian election interference effort.”

“Trump and senior Campaign officials sought to obtain advance information about WikiLeaks’s planned releases through Roger Stone.”

“The Committee further found that Papadopoulos’s efforts introduced him to several individuals that raise counterintelligence concerns, due to their associations with individuals from hostile foreign governments, as well as actions these individuals undertook. The Committee assesses that Papadopoulos was not a witting cooptee of the Russian intelligence services, but nonetheless presented a prime intelligence target and potential vector for malign Russian influence.”

Taken as a whole, Manafort’s high-level access and willingness to share information with individuals closely affiliated with the Russian intelligence services . . . represented a grave counterintelligence threat.”

Like the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, who released his findings in April 2019, the Senate report did not conclude that the Trump campaign engaged in a coordinated conspiracy with the Russian government — a fact that Republicans seized on to argue that there was “no collusion.”

But the report showed extensive evidence of contacts between Trump campaign advisers and people tied to the Kremlin — including a longstanding associate of the onetime Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, Konstantin V. Kilimnik, whom the report identified as a “Russian intelligence officer.”

The Senate report was the first time the government has identified Mr. Kilimnik as an intelligence officer — Mr. Mueller’s report had labeled him as someone with ties to Russian intelligence. Most of the details about his intelligence background were blacked out in the Senate report.

Mr. Manafort’s willingness to share information with Mr. Kilimnik and others affiliated with the Russian intelligence services “represented a grave counterintelligence threat,” the report said.

.................................................. ..........................................

Both the Mueller report and the senate report spelled out Trump's chief of staff who worked for free, also worked for the Russian GRU!.

The evidence betrays your no collusion crap. The report had been submitted to the U.S intel agencies for publication about 4 months ago, without Rubio or any other senators doing an after report spin addition. The afterrspin tbacktrack came after word leaked to the WH, it was gonna compromise them BIG TIME. That's why your rethpugs backtracked after the initial report was completed.

https://www.salon.com/2020/08/19/republican-led-senate-intel-committee-made-criminal-referrals-of-don-jr-and-jared-kushner-report/

Leaders of the Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee last year made criminal referrals of Donald Trump Jr., presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner and several other associates of President Donald Trump over suspicions that they might have lied to the panel, according to multiple reports.

Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., who chaired the committee before Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., took over earlier this year, and Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., the top Democrat on the committee, notified federal prosecutors last year that accounts from Don Jr. and Kushner were contradicted by former Trump deputy campaign chairman Rick Gates' testimony to former special counsel Robert Mueller, according to The Los Angeles Times and The Washington Post.

Burr and Warner also told prosecutors that they believed former chief White House strategist Steve Bannon, former campaign co-chair Sam Clovis and Trump associate Erik Prince — the founder of Blackwater and brother of Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos — lied to congressional investigators, which if proven to be true, would be a felony. (Mueller's report previously concluded that Prince had lied to prosecutors about his dealings with Russians during the 2016 campaign.)
.................................................. ..............................
https://www.salon.com/2020/08/19/senate-intelligence-report-reveals-a-vast-network-of--yes--trump-russia-collusion/

We also have Robert Mueller's voluminous report, which proved that the Trump campaign welcomed, if not directly conspired with, Russian government interference in the 2016 election and that the president subsequently obstructed the investigation.

All these probes have been attacked by Republicans as unjustified partisan attacks on Trump. However, this week, the Senate Intelligence Committee, chaired by Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., released the final volume of its investigation and it's impossible to make that charge. The report was signed by all members of the committee. Indeed, this is the only time during Trump's first term that Senate Republicans, aside from Mitt Romney of Utah, have done their duty to protect our democracy.

I have explained a dozen times HOW!!

Read thew Senate report and the Mueller report. Pay special attention to how the moron's campaign manager, no pay needed Paul Manafort, gave a Russian GRU operative Konstantin Kilimnik polling data on the battleground states, allowing Vlad an ex KGB leader, (the one with the brains), to tilt the electoral college by 77,000 votes, by manipulating social media and running fake ads in those states, nudging the outcome in the moron's favor(the one without the brains). The Russians did not pull the voting levers but persuaded enough people to either vote a certain way or not vote at all. Putin is a grand strategist.

I guess you guys are the monkeys on the right and the middle. Does that leave Tom on the left

You truly are as ignorant as your moron-in-chief. It is common knowledge and has been since the 2016 ekectiion

The Election Came Down to 77,744 Votes in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan (Updated)
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/weekly-standard/the-election-came-down-to-77-744-votes-in-pennsylvania-wisconsin-and-michigan-updated
Donald Trump owes his victory in the Electoral College to three states he won by the smallest number of votes: Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan. So it's fair to say that the 2016 presidential election was decided by about 77,000 votes out of than 136 million ballots cast. According to the final tallies, Trump won Pennsylvania by 0.7 percentage points (44,292 votes), Wisconsin by 0.7 points (22,748 votes), Michigan by 0.2 points (10,704 votes). If Clinton had won all three states, she would have won the Electoral College 278 to 260. She fell short in all three, of course, and that's why we are now getting accustomed to the reality of President-elect Donald J. Trump. (This article has been updated to reflect final results.)

And the official votes are documented in detail. Grow up

dang, is this electoral college something new, like a right wing conspiracy?Actually it stems from a compromise made with slave owning southern states at the constitutional convention. Known as the 3/5ths compromise

Its effect was to give the Southern states (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-Fifths_Compromise) a third more seats in Congress and a third more electoral votes than if slaves had been ignored, but fewer than if slaves and free people had been counted equally. The compromise was proposed by delegate James Wilson and seconded by Charles Pinckney on June 11, 1787.

You right winger rethugs used the "Southern strategy" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_strategy) in three presidential campaigns to scare southern whites, the black man would steal their land and rape their wives and daughters

Study the ugly origins of racism.

A big pile of russiagate documents are rumored to being released tomorrow. It will be interesting to see if they are and how many words can be actually seen after all of the black lines 'protecting sources and methods'.

liberal godsmacked over Russia conspiracy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0k6X03XvxWwGood stuff. Of course he's reading from an article written by GOAT II, Glenn Greenwald. One of the last remaining REAL journalists on planet earth.

So not surprising.

Imagine all the LIBERALS on here who still BELIEVE "Russiagate" was actually true in ANY sense of the word. They all STILL DO...or at least they SAY they do. They have to...what else are they going to do?

Trump blew their brains out.

Thank God we have Biden in the White House so that Russia won't be able to annex any countries like the Ukraine. Trump the Russian asset would have let Putin invade Ukraine.

... oh wait!!!

Wasn't that the narrative from 2017-2021?
