Nancy Pelosi becomes President! :faint::faint:That may be a rule, but I don't see it happening. Just add another fight to the list. Trump won't leave till he's defeated...beyond the shadow of a doubt.

Nancy Pelosi becomes President! Not necessarily. The electoral college meets on the first Tuesday after the second Wednesday of December (this year that's Dec 15). In states which have not completed the count it is possible that the state legislature could meet in emergency session and appoint electors. Thus the Texas legislature could appoint electors pledged to Trump only to find out later (after Dec 15) that Biden had won Texas.

It is also possible that the senate could receive the electoral college results from all but one state. Is it still necessary to have 270 votes to win? Or do you just need a majority of the votes received from the states that have completed the count? Call SCOTUS!

But if there is no clear winner in the electoral college then the house picks the president (each state getting one vote) and the senate picks the vice president. It's possible that the house could pick Trump for president while the Senate picks Harris for vice president.

That may be a rule, ...It's not the rule. The issue will be decided on 3 Jan 2021.
