Looks like more seats for the Republicans in both! This is turning into a HUGE day!

Did I hear the radio correctly? That Dakota boy was taken to the wood shed?

Now there are NO excuses. It is time to put up.
I will be very interested to see what the first order of business is.
I nominate Zell Miller for the Supreme Court!

"First order of business" is right!

Traditionally, there is usually a "honeymoon" period between the Pres. and Congress during the Pres' first year term. If I were Bush, I'd start submitting SC nominations immediately after the holiday break. CJ Rhenquist is quite ill, and will want to step down or will be forced to retire becasue of his cancer condition.

I didn't particularly care for how Bush handled the Dems in the Senate during his first term. I hope he learned something from that, and he'll take a tougher stand and offer a more supporting role to the nominees who are taking all the heat from the Libs on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

As far as I'm concerned Bush should have no higher priority than getting good, decent, conservative, non-activist jurists seated on the bench in the nation's highest court. Just as losing the war in Iraq is not an option so, too, is not failing to get conservatives seated on the court; for if Bush fails in this all-important endeavor, the Socialists in this country will easily have their agendas realized by simple and unconstitutional judicial fiat by unelected officials.

The stakes in this game are unbelievably high. If Bush should lose, so goes the nation.

The choice of Reid over Dodd signals the Dems might be starting to learn. I take it as a sign of good things to come. Hopefully, we have hit bottom and are bouncing back up.
