It will be hosted at Belmont in 2005 and then Churchill in 2006. That's at least 2 years that racing fans can look forward to.

Let's face it, LS was a sick joke. It was awful.

I was hoping for Woodbine- I have never seen that track.
I guess they can only be held at tracks that have meets during the correct time period.

2007 will see the Breeders' Cup at Monmouth.

You have some really odd opinions. I'll leave it at that.

I was there. I thought LS did a great job. It was a LONG walk to the parking lot but otherwise it was great. I was surprised by the room you had unlike the wall to wall people you see at the Derby.

I really enjoyed the BC. I'm finding that the only people complaining are the ones that didn't go. What made your trip to the BC so awful that you would call it a sick joke.

I like the fact the BC goes to tracks like Lone Star, Arlington and Woodbine. There's plenty of people in this country who don't live in metro New York, LA, or Louisville.

Ken-are you forgetting Woodbine had it a few years ago?

My trip to the local simulcast was a sick joke, but that's another story.

pace.........are you in a market where you cannot play from home?

If I was......... I wouldn't be playing..........at all. The local tracks here have simul. but in spite of the upgrades and the fancy signs etc.........they still suck. Service, Food and just about everything sucks. Except the parking. It is a couple of bucks, but you are always close to the door, because nobody ever attends.

I thought the favorites ran pretty well in the BC races for the most part. That means the crowd's take on Lone Star was essentially on the mark.

I don't see Lone Star as a sick joke; I thought, IMHO, that Lone Star did a good job.

Yes. Missouri. Big bummer!

Moved here from OKlahoma a year ago. Had a TSN betting account, was within 20 min. of three simos (one with leather office chairs and personal tv). Used to be able to attend almost daily. Now it's once a week at best.

Now I drive 50 miles one way to be slow-played by surly clerks who make it plain I'm interrupting their day.

And a form is $5.25. That extra quarter gripes my a..

Parking & admission is free, but heck, it should be.

Don't get me started on the food.

But the "sick joke" referred more to lousy wagering on my part. Had a lot of the horses, just not on the right tickets.

Anyhoo, thanks for commiseratiing........

Does anybody here go to the simulcast at Lonestar? I checked it out while I was there and it's really nice. It was a Vegas style book with what looked like good food and a bar in the middle of it.

I used to live there ;) ---it is an excellent facility but I now play from home.

Kenwood,

Woodbine runs from spring 'til early December. You have to see the turf course to believe it !

Don't expect Woodbine to host the Breeders Cup again.
Since 1996 they have put in the casino and remodeled the
third floor grandstand. Its unlikely that the track seats more
than 20,000 now. They would have to build temporary seating
as Lone Star did but in late October or early November the
weather would make that seating very problematic.
Woodbine held the Cup for the prestige, though the local
horsemen were less than thrilled and the powers that be
presently have no interest in bidding again for it.

I go often,....very often. I love the simo, but hate the live racing here. The people that run the simo are VERY friendly. Can't say the same for how they treat every day players for the live product. It all comes down to how the mgmnt will listen to and accomodate players in the simo, but totally ignore those attending live races on a daily basis.

It's the least favorite track I've been to for the live product (on a daily basis), but my 2nd favorite for simulcasting. It's like two different worlds out there.

I went to a couple of "Watch And Wagers" in the year I lived in California. They were damn nice. Decent food , great Bar, and clean. The crowd was very nice and no matter how bad you lose one.........you walk outside and the sun is always shining........and you can't walk more than five hundred yards without seeing a beautiful woman.............it is good for the attitude. If it weren't for the freeways and the extreme taxes.........I might still be there
