I've posted this before on another thread. I believe it is fairly accurate. It shows a timeline of possible underlying causes to who is leading and why.

The debate portion is a little confusing.. I thought the great minds said Kerry won all 3 debates..

They show Bush having a lead, but not very big. These markets usually cascade almost entirely toward the winner in the last days before the election and are very good at predicting the winner. If there is no cascade, the election is generally very close
