Is this guy freaking amazing or what???

How much you think he'll end up with as a free agent next year?? I bet you the Yanks offer 10 years $150-180 million..

I hate the Yankees. Or maybe better put, I hate the ownership of my team for not acting in a smiliar fashion....

This guy has such a sweet stroke, it's sick..
sad that he's going to the highest bidder..

(Shit, after watching Damon this series, hope the Sox get him :-)

Hopefully the Mets will go after him.

Beltran/Wright back to back would be an interesting future..

Would love to see that. Right now the future does not look so bright.

I would love to see Seattle go after him. The trouble is, Boras is his agent, and Seattle (among many others) does not have a good history with him. Seattle would likely be better served going after a guy like Delgado anyway.

Its amazing how long this guy went under the radar playing in Kansas City.

Houston is on such a roll; I'll be shocked if they don't get past St. Louis. And w/the momentum they have, I think they will take it to the Yankees or Red Sox. I said way back that St. Louis reminded me of the Seattle team that won 110 games. All that offense but their pitching doesn't intimidate anybody. Come post season time, I'll take the pitching.

Beltran has been a .280/25 HR/100 RBI kind of guy. His stock has skyrocketed in the last few weeks.

Agreed.. Some others that stock has risen in the past few weeks:

David Ortiz
Hideki Matsui
Brad Lidge

Beltran has always been a 5 tool player. Not too many of those in the majors. But yeah, his stock has risen even more recently. And same w/Ortiz.

In a standard 5x5 fantasy league, Beltran's stats for the most recently completed regular season would come in 5th, behind Pujols, Guerrero, Bonds and Beltre. The combination of speed and power makes him a unique commodity...he was the only MLB player this year to hit at least 35 home runs AND steal at least 35 bases.

I will be very interested in his off-season negotiations...he doesn't strike me as being one of those players who'll just jump to the highest bidder...his experience with the Astros has been very positive so far...Minute Maid is a nice, new, hitter friendly park and his low key personality might not find New York very appealing.

I'd rather see the birds go after Pedro Martinez
