When was the last time you saw 7 of 8 horses
in the field get assigned a morning line under 6/1 ? http://www.hoc-board.de/phpBB2/smilies/eeks/shock.gif

Looks like an off-track for tonight's Mountaineer card.

Monday: Rain, high 56, 60% chance of precipitation.
Monday night: Low 50, 90% chance of precipitation

The local yokels should have a better line on it
but that's the weather forecast as of 2:30 pm ET.
Fortunately this contest will go on, come hell or high water. ;)

A mad scramble it is, and should be interesting
to find out which of the young 'uns navigate the slop and which don't.
Pedigree stats are on that BRIS past performances
but I'm sure several here have a unique approach to capitalize
on the off-going.

So far we've got a dozen players in for tonight.
We're alway open for the PA guys participation, so let's have them
posted in this thread:

I don't generally look at Mountaineer since its in the middle of the night here, but I posted my figures for the race at Mountaineer Race 7 (http://www.pacefigures.com/mnr041018r7.html)

Alright I peeked at that URL, cj.
A bit of explanation on how to read it might help me and the others.
Right now I'm honing in on the slop lovers after these posted track conditions:

Mountaineer Changes for Mon Oct 18 2004 (Updated at 07:12:57 PM)

Track Conditions: Current Weather-Rainy, Dirt-Sloppy
Race: 7 6 CLOUD FORTY NINE scratched

That scratch of the 6 horse leaves Ashley and I as the probable pacesetter.
Interesting to note on the BRIS mud stats:
The longest shot on the board has a sire clicking with 25% of his progeny
after a decent sample of 142 starts.
He also gets a trainer switch back to Duane Knipe who won
with him on a debut in Florida. Pretty interesting key for the exotics at 15/1.

By the way - I value your participation from those here at PA.
I gain nothing in the process,
as I conduct these contests in my spare time at Thoroughbred Champions.

A volunteer I am. Not in it for the business end.
It's all in good fun at the most challenging track around -Mountaineer. ;)
