I'm just wondering what tracks people play at and more precisely where they are successful. I usually only play 1 or 2 tracks at a time, but I am looking at trying to do 3 or 4. There' so many to choose from that I am a bit uncertain how to do that.

4 tracks would be the limit of my brain's RAM availability. For my handicapping style I'd need to prepare before the assault, biases, trainers, jocks, etc. so that I have an idea of the track. I'd also start VERY slow (small bets) at the new unfamiliar tracks until I got comfortable while wagering normally at my usual tracks.

I am a pace/trip handicapper I guess with a bit of other factors too. Are there specific tracks that people find works better for say pace handicapping than others? Just curious.

I am not a pace handicapper, more of a longshot/value player, and my favorites are:

1) Charlestown
2) Sam Houston (Pick3's are amazing)
3) Mountaineer (amazing exacta value)
4) Evangeline (Find the speed and go to the window)

I play a variety of tracks but tend to stay away from the level 1 tracks...that way I usually get 9-11 races filled with rateable horses. A field full of well bred first-timers or a turf race with foreign invaders is tough to deal with from a pace standpoint.

Before I download a file in the morning, I will look at the entries for the tracks running that day...prefering those which will be running lots of claiming or turf races. Once I have my list of "acceptable" cards for the day, I'll check the weather for the area to make sure I won't be deluged with scratches or races coming off the turf.

I will select 3-5 tracks from that final list to start working on...since we have the ability to create our own pps these days, a little preparation will give you more bang for your buck.

I get too bogged down in the details to play more than 2 tracks in a day and still feel like I've given my money a good ride. And, I probably play more of those races that the figure folks stay away from because there are limited or no figures available. Such as the 1st timers, foreign imports, etc.

I only play SoCal, NYRA and sometimes GP and sometimes NoCal (BM or GG). I stay away from off-tracks (I used to play the daylights out of them but with the mass publication of wet track stuff in the DRF and general availability of Tomlinson breeding rankings for Mud and Turf there's little edge available there that I can see).

The thing that I've learned is to not bite off more than I can chew!

Prefer lesser tracks with full fields and focus on bottom level claimers, longshot oriented. Do best at Mountaineer and OK at Turf Paradise and Lone Star. In Las Vegas so I can only bet with casinos so I can't do Evangeline and Delta Downs which, I've been told, are great for the bottom level claimers.

I usually can only get to the track to bet at night, and with no phone/internet wagering legal in NJ, here is my list:

1) Santa Anita/Hollywood/Golden Gate/Del Mar/ Bay Meadows (usually can get up to the Meadowlands to catch the second half of these cards)
2) Penn/Charlestown (cheap tracks with some solid angles)
3) Retama/Lone Star/Sam Houston (amazing value to be found at Sam Houston)
4) Evangeline (like those quarter horses at the end of some cards)
5) Hoosier/Fair Grounds/Oaklawn/Turfway
6) My favorite track to play on the weekends is by far though: Monmouth Park... for me a 40 minute ride and I'll bring my cooler for a nice day in the sun.

I usually get in depth with my analysis on two or three of the afore mentioned, pretty much where I am hot, so it varies.

Is this Kitts Anderson, the famous bottom-level claimer player?
Anything this guy has to say about those plugs, listen up!

I confess, I am Kitts Anderson and I have had some success with bottom level claimers.

Thanks, lefty
I find that Gold Coast is now carrying Delta Downs and that is where my phonebet account is. Now to find Charlestown and Evangeline. I am not yet ready for internet betting.

I'm doing well at AP, CD, FG, LAD, LS, OP, SPT,TP. I'm having difficulties with AQU,GP,LRL.

I know what the problem is at LRL, too many favorites coming in. Over 36% winners doesn't come close to a profit.

But, does anyone have any suggestions as to what might likely be my problem with AQU and GP. I know this is a very general question, but maybe someone might have thoughts based on the lists of tracks?

I love to play at Aqueduct!!

I have a unique approach though.

I found that the Public as a group create Repeating Wagering
Patterns by finding their winners in a very
similar way each and every racing day over and over again.
I've become Very Good at finding the Value Races that the cards offer and then watch what the Public as a group has to say. It's been a good way to see when the fav is good, but more importantly when the fav won't be there! I have a lot of free information so if you're interested it doesn't cost you anything more than your time.

email me at chcontest@aol.com

I'll show you what I'm talking about when I say that I handicap the handicappers!
