this was a bit unusual win because my top choice, #5 was a play with all the horses in the field. generally one or more horses are eliminated from the play.
the 5/2 exacta won, my $1 return was only $1.30 compared to the tracks $1.80. however the #5 may be considered as a strong win bet, because it combined with ALL other horse in the field..
I'll keep an eye open to that chance.

the 9/1 exacta won, my top choice finished 2nd.
in the past I have observed that when a REVERSE exacta play is made the returns can be very large.
a 10 horse field, 9 $1 plays returned the $51.40 exacta or a $1 return of $5.71

a 10 horse field, 9 $1 plays had a $1 return of $4.06
the $1 exacta return increase to $5.21 if only selected horses (those indicated with a bet size) are combined with the place horse
