On June 21st, 2019 seven members of the Jarheads Motorcyce Club set out for an annual ride to their local American Legion post located in Gorham, New Hampshire. It was a beautiful day and they had made this ride before but today would be different as before it would end seven members of the club would be killed after being struck by a pickup truck towing a trailer that cossed over the double yellow line. The driver of the pickup truck a 23 year old Massachusetts man has been arrested and charged in relation to the crash. Apparently he has a lengthy driving record spanning multiple states and his license to operate should have been suspended at the time of the incident due to a recent DUI arrest in Connecticut. The fallout from this incident has been been swift and just first leading to the resignation of the head of the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles and then followed by the suspension of between 800 - 900 Massachusetts operators who have serious out of state driving violations on their record that up till point had yet to be acted upon. The seven members of the Jarheads Motorycle Club who were killed that day were mostlly formers Marines who have now become know as "The Fallen 7". A ride was organized shortly after the accident to honor those killed. The organizers of the ride hoped for between 50-100 riders but after the story went viral thousands of people showed up this past Saturday in Laconia, New Hampshire to make the trek back up interstate 93 to the original crash site located in Randolph, New Hampshire. The following is a video recorded this past Saturday as the New Hampshire State Police escort the ride down route 104 before eventually merging onto interstate 93. If this video doesn't humble you I don't know what will.
