"Saddam paid off French leaders

By Bill Gertz
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

Saddam Hussein used a U.N. humanitarian program to pay $1.78 billion to French government officials, businessmen and journalists in a bid to have sanctions removed and U.S. policies opposed, according to a CIA report made public yesterday.
The cash was part of $10.9 billion secretly skimmed from the U.N. oil-for-food program, which was used by Iraq to buy military goods, according to a 1,000-page report by the CIA-led Iraqi Survey Group.
According to a section of the report on Iraqi weapons procurement, the survey group identified long-standing ties between Saddam and the French government. One 1992 Iraqi intelligence service report revealed that Iraq's ambassador to France paid $1 million to the French Socialist Party in 1988."

Hey, Maybe that is what Kerry meant by a "Global test". How can he and his DemLib buddies get kickbacks from foreign countries as well as at home.

A lot will come out with the food for oil congressional hearings that are already known but now it will make the USA news.
The "global test"- Kerry said we have to "prove to the world we are right" proir to going to war. That is the global test and that means the UN has to vote specifically to go to war; also means the World judicial system determines what we do right or wrong, not our own military courts. Kerry wants our prison guards tried by the socialist scandanavian judges.
I think Kerry ought to be tried first in the World Court for his Vietnam atrocities before allowing a "global test" of our policies or personnel. That is only fair and balances.

All we hear on the so-called news today is that there no WMD in Iraq. The real truth is that no WMD were FOUND. That is a s far as you can go wtih the truth. NOBODY can say for sure that WMD were not hidden or smuggeld into Syria before or during the war.

Secondly, the report has much more improtant stuff in it - like the total corruptino of our so-called allies and the UN in the food for oil program.
Had we just let things go on and let the UN inspectors find nothing, SH would then have been in a postion to re-start his nuclear program.
