I had lunch at Gulfstream today. How quiet was it? I went outside 10 palms to watch a couple of live races and I was able to hear the Owl calls. Gulfstream plays Owl recordings with O MTP to clear the Turf course of birds

It was like a library there today. Dead.

I’ve been to Gulfstream during the off season and as expected on track attendance is pretty bleak. It is still one of my favorite tracks to visit no matter what time of the year. I do find it funny how they charge extra to sit in the OTB area. So you know if Gulfstream will have racing in October and November since Gulfstream West is no longer having horse racing? Apparently Calder now secures its casino license with a fake JaiAlai court.

The food is very good at Gulfstream.

And there was a good matchup, Gladiator King vs Garter and Tie.
For all the races I saw at Gulfstream this year, what I saw from Garter and Tie yesterday ranks near the top. I’m curious if the figure will match what my eyes saw.

Garter and Tie will get ~117 TimeformUS Speed Figure for the effort. He obviously got a nice set up but took full advantage with a big move forward numerically off a previous best of 110. Gladiator King simply has to have the lead to perform his best and wound up in a duel.

Post-race Ralph Nicks said he's campaigning for the July 28th Grd 2 Amsterdam at Saratoga.

This will get rid of the birds also, but might bring out a groupie or two.

Also new, I was able to open and bet with NYRABETS inside Gulfstream. That makes me thing that these signal blockers aren't cheap.
