From abetting stand point it was the right call, from a 3 year old that wont get a second chance to win the Derby it's unfortunate.

You deserved to lose.

Not sure I've ever seen anybody broadcast a ticket they deserved to lose, and then ask for forgiveness in cashing the ticket.

This is some crazy-assed shit.

And for a Place ticket.

Maximum doesn't care that he got DQ'd. If he does, he isn't talking.

He was by far the best horse in the race and everybody knows it.

When he becomes a sire no one will care that he was placed 17th in the Derby. Everyone knows he crossed the finish line first and did it from gate to wire. That is all that matters.

The Derby is about breeding. It is not about purse money, trophies, or cashing a ticket.

The irony is that winning 10 furlong races in the U.S. is hardly important today. Breeders seem to be focused on producing precocious livestock that can win at two years of age. There are not many 10 furlong two year old races.

I hit the Oaks/Derby double with the disqualification. Do I feel like CH was the best horse? No. In fact, if they had left MS up, I would not have felt cheated, because I felt he was the best horse. But I do NOT feel guilty about collecting that $2500, and will enjoy spending that money :)

Funny stuff, Tom.

I love how people want to quit the sport forever because they don't like one DQ. And a fair one at that. Talk about fragile.

I had $100 across the board on code of honor and didn't feel the slightest bit of remorse cashing the ticket after all of the dq's go against me, horses getting scratched midway through a horizontal, etc

I have some heartache coming. I had $5 win on Country House and later that night I bet a Delta Downs quarter horse race where the 4 horse (my horse) ran second to the 8. The eight crushed the 7 during the race and got DQ'ed. I got put up for the second time in one day. Ohhhhhh shhhiiiii....
