In the advanced setting of Zone Alarm (free) it asks to
"Allow outgoing DHS/DHCP in Trusted Zone on High Setting."

also to "Allow .....in Internet Zone on high setting."

what does this mean and should I check it off. I presume it has something to do with file sharing capabilities....

Did you mean DNS/DHCP?

Zone Alarm is asking whether or not you will allow your IP addres to be transmitted.

I suppose that I don't of course, right? Would there be any exceptions?

Are you running you own network?

not really. I have a small wi-fi in my house hooking up 2 PCs, but that's all.
I had just thought that if you were, for example, on Kazaa and wanted to let others share YOUR songs, that you would have to leave one of those settings checked. These days, some file-sharing sites won't let you in unless you share your stuff.

Not that I would EVER do anything like that of course.
It's wrong I tell you, it's wrong!
