Has anyone caught a winner in as weird a way as this? In scanning the entries for Oaklawn Park today, I saw the name Treasure Trove in the last race. Around 60 or so years ago, Kentucky Club tobacco company used to run a "name the horse" contest where the winner would actually win a thoroughbred as first prize. I forget the sire/dam combination and the ultimate winning name, but I distinctly remember entering the name Treasure Trove and got honorable mention. I bet the horse today, and he won at over 25/1. Wouldn't you have? Does anyone remember that contest from the late 50's/early 60's?

One of the coolest swami angles I have seen. Thanks for sharing.

Through the haze, I think the winning horse name chosen was Tucky Kent that year. A totally awful name, imho, but the company wanted brand recognition, I guess. Amazing that the only people smoking pipes nowadays are stoners.
