Also, there's supposed to be a mock race involving all 19 Classic winners, with morning-lines, post parades, and a call from Durkin. Should be cool to see how they put all this together.

From what I've read they cut a bunch of footage together from large fields and jazed it up with computers. Could be fun...could be lame. I entered the contest anyway. Going to buy tickets for Belmont 2005, but a free pair would be even better

OTM Al...

I totally agree about the mock race. As a student who edits and shoots video for a school TV station on a near-daily basis, I'll be taking notes. Either way, I'm looking forward to it.

PS: My money's on Cigar.

OK. I suppose that all the camera angles and the lousy shots and blur-outs of other horses not invloved couldn't be avoided. But with a "field" like that, I can't help but feel a little let down by this. There was a reason nobody had ever done that, and the video, in my opinion, showed why.

Agreed. That was really awful.

When they were calling so and so out in front, at least they could have had a shot with the right colors.
Well, at least they tried to do something different.

It was a neat idea, and I could have forgiven the hodgepodge of shots IF they could have put a realistic sounding call together. It just sounded too much like a guess who's going to win thing.

Oh well, it was something to watch when flipping back and forth between the NYRA simulcast. Liked that Artie Schiller race a whole lot more than the program and just read the blurb at Bloodhorse that the trainer wants to go easy on him for the rest of the year so he can come out smoking at 4

The replay is up on www.ntra.com for those that missed it.

Like the way Easy Goer blows by SS right after the wire.

Gotta think he was better but lost it at the start that day.

:D Don't forget, that ticket is payable in Monopoly money and must be cashed by September 47th, 2004. :D

They should have computerized it, and gone all out. That way, it would have been something to store away for years, instead it was just plain lame.

Found it. The Ultimate classic, I guess. Couldn't get any volume at all. Video was lousy, and did it in bits. No real flow to the race. Hope they improve off of this
