Australia’s most popular female since the First Fleet of British ships arrived in Sydney in 1788 shoots for her 30th consecutive victory at 11:50 p.m. EST at Royal Randwick (Australia race 6B in the U.S.)

Even Money on the morning-line, we'll see how much she takes, and 30 consecutive wins would be fabulous.

29 in a row-that is mind boggling

I'd say Cathy Freeman in the 2000 Olympics was more popular than Winx. And Kylie and Olivia sold more records, of course.

Her morning-line odds are actually 1/10. The computer mysteriously reads the $1.10 payoff (for $1) as even money.

Cathy and Kylie definitely Top 10, but many lengths behind Winx. Olivia was born in England.

That makes more sense.

Waller trains 6 of the 8 in the race.:lol:

1st race back from spell, why wouldn't others line up to take a shot.

Probably because Australia needs Winx now more than ever since Darren Weir got caught and got a 4 year suspension!!:lol:

Alright, what the heck is all this "Barrier Trial" stuff?

Is it simply kind of a race, but actually just a workout?

That girl is something truly special. She has got more gears than a 12 cylinder Jaguar... WOW!! Makes it look so easy in terms of her way of going... :)

Barrier Trial is like a training race that some tracks had here in the past.

Chris Waller trains 6 of the 7 runners, you call that horse racing.

Starting to look like a joke, its just padding the stats. A shame the horse never went to the UK so we could get a taste of how good it really is/was.
Waller will control the entry box from here until the horse is retired.

Kind of like a qualifier in harness racing.

It is a shame they didn't go the UK or France at least once while at her peak, but right now I don't think you can blame the connections for what's going on. There are good horses in Australia, but they are avoiding her. When a horse is that dominant, people seek out purse money and graded races elsewhere rather than conceding 1st and running for 2nd or 3rd.

Good post, Wayne. I have written and said many times: A huge problem with racing nowadays is that nobody with a live horse willingly risks a loss. And you can't coronate winners without quality losers as affirmation.

And this stubborn unwillingness to lose results in 3/5 winners and 12 length margins-unbettable races, that is.

Facing 7 horses in the 5th at Rosehill (australia A), # 4. Track currently listed as "heavy", with the start of the race up a short chute at the rather uncommon distance of 1500 meters (7.5 furlongs).

Winx is 3 for 3 on heavy tracks, 4 for 4 at the distance, 6 for 7 on the course, and 35 for 41 lifetime, with 3 placings. So, she's due to be upset...;-)

Will play small Q with the Kiwi, #9, "Brutal", 'cause that's how this week at work went....

Sat 4W and went past them before he had even asked her for anything. Thrashed them virtually untouched. A brutal victory.

Only one more run for her career. Let’s hope everything goes to plan. The greatest of my life, certainly top 5 in our history and probably top 2 with the only one better being Phar Lap, who is one of the greats of all time in world racing.

She is amazing.

Had never watched her until pulling up some youtubes last nite. The professionalism, apparent intelligence, and keen responsiveness to her rider were what most impressed me. And as fantastic as her kick is, she appears somewhat eager to go earlier, and it's my impression possesses a brilliant turn of foot which has been wisely repressed considering the nature of long turf races.

She is not the smoothest mover in captivity, and her slight, but easily detected , tendency to bobble says potentially "interesting" things about her underpinnings.
